Question DSATX w/brainstem Problem

I have recently purchased the dsatx and brainstem.

I am bench testing everything right now, so here is my setup for the dsatx:

- Similating atx power by jumping pins 13/14 on atx power supply.
- Attached a switch from acc on dsatx to 12v on molex
- ground from a molex
- running vin to 12v molex

When i power up the dsatx it seems i never hit post. I get it to boot up probably once every 10 times. Everytime i boot from the dsatx a solid red lite is on and then i get no vga signal on my monitor.

I tried it on another computer and boots up fine with vga everytime. So, looks to be a problem with compatibility with my motherboard and the dsatx or something. I am using a MSI motherboard running an amd xp processor.

Also, with the brainstem hooked in i get a solid led, but when i give it power the dsatx doesn't get power it seems, no blinks nothing. When i disconnect the brainstem the dsatx boots up fine.

I know i have it in the right way, bucasue if i put it in the otherway the led flickers and doesn't get reconize on startup, but am able to boot.

Maybe i hot plugged the brainstem and need to reset it, which i havent' done yet, but wondering if i'm doing something or maybe its my motherboard. Even if i did hot plug the brainstem, shouldn't it still boot and just act weird?

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this with either situations above?

Also, i have tried 3 atx power supplied to similate power, but i could only get one of the atx psu to works. With the other 2 the dsatx doesn't get power which is weird. I used a volt meter to test the volts on the psu that worked, so will test the other 2. Thought that was weird..

blair.

You also need to short\jump pins 8/9 on the ATX PSU.

I have a problem with the Brainstem adapter. If I it to the DSATX do not attach start my PC any longer correctly. It starts, goes out however equivalent again. And the LED of the DSATX flashes 4 or 5 times. What does that lie?? If I the Brainstem do not attach function everything normally. A RESET I made, it help also not.

i had the brainstem on com 3 and it worked reasably wel. Because of a new position of the mobo, now i use com 2 and when i switch to the gps program, al power goes.
I use a m2 to power the harddisk and the powerd usb-hubs, so its not that it needs to put out more power than it can handle.

But my gps (usb) recever takes com3 in cpc. So what i think is that maybe the irq adres has somthing to do with the switching of.
I have changed the irq to the on i use on the com 4, probebly test it this weekend.
