Carnetix has No POWER!!!

Can someone assist me with my carnetix 2140 power supply/ regulator..as of right now no led or fan spin ...can someone let me know how i can test the carnetix without hooking it up to the ignition...for example hooking the carnetix up directly to my car battery or using my power and ground from my amplifier...I connected the positive and negative on the carnetix to my amp and it doesnt even budge..could it be that the power supply is missing the ignition signal? Whats the simplest way to tell if the carnetix power supply is any good? any help would be great!!!!

First of all, you don't have to wire the Carnetix to your ignition.
You have to wire it to an ignition-controlled circuit. Depending on your make/model of vehicle, you might try cig lighter/power ports, turn-on lead for headunit or some other circuit for a system that is only functional with the vehicle on.

You don't need to wire to ignition if you plan to turn the computer on/off with a button, but this isn't what most users want.

ok i havent managed to get a voltometer yet, however, shouldnt i get some sort of movement or blink out of the carnetix after connecting it to my battery and grounding it to the car? I had the yellow ignition wire connected to a fuse which was plugged into my ignition switch fuse line....

I have opened the carnetix up and set the jp5 jumper to mac mini intel setting...however what other settings are needed? i do see that jumper jp6 does not have a jumper on it at all. would this be the culprit of me not getting any response from the carnetix...

.I dont see any signs or smells of a burnt chip or resistor or anything physically wrong with the carnetix power supply itself and the fuse is not busted.... please continue to assist me and thanks for the help thus far.....

Do u think that i need to connect the carnetix through usb to my mac mini..maybe the power supply needs some sort of jump from the usb like a wake on lan/ usb kind of thing...i read on a forum that the carnetix needed to reset itself or something to that nature...it may have had something to do with the firmware needing to be updated.....IM stuck ive tried eveything i can think of as u can see! im not getting anywhere
