Automotive ATX Power Supplies with a desktop

I have been debating on either using an Intelligent Automotive ATX Power Supply or a dc/ac converter and using my desk top power supply.

My question is, can one of the automotive power supplies, such as the M2-ATX 160W or OPUS 120, be used on a desktop motherboard? The MB I plan to use is a GIGABYTE GA-M61SME-S2 AM2 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard.

I see that they use a 20 pin ATX MB power cable, and my MB uses a 24 pin. I could use an adapter for that. I also have an 80 gig sata HD and an IDE dvd drive that will go into the system. This is from my old desktop. I just built a new amd dual core so I could use the old pc for my truck.

Thanks in advance.

if the motherboard has an ATX connector, it can be powered with an ATX compliant PSU no matter where the PSU gets its power from. So yes it will work.

Just to give you an idea, my m1-atx is powering a micro-atx sever board. You would, as you stated, need an adapter for that motherboard.
