M2-ATX Ignition override LED
Forgive me if this is not the right place to ask this.
I'm going to incorporate a switch to override the M2's shutdown when the ignition is turned off. I want an LED to come on when it's in override but i'm not sure the wiring in this diagram is right, is it? For some reason it don't seam right.
Thanks in advance.

Run a constant 12v to and from your switch. The way you have it ran, as soon as you turn off your car, the switch will not work. And don't forget a resister for the LED. I'll draw somthing up for you, if no one else beats me to it .

Here's a simple manual one:

and an auto-resetting one with LED:

Thanks, i can't say i fully understand that diagram. It did however (in conjunction with the other examples) got me to thinking i realy do need a on/off/on swith, not just a on/off.
I'll rethink it and see what i come-up with or just abandon the idea.
Thanks very much for your help.

The last diagram I posted uses a DPDT switch with center off. The switch is shown in the override position which routes 12V to the PC so it will stay on. It also sends the same to the LED and its series limiting resistor on the second pole. When the switch is moved to center, the PC is disabled and won't turn on at all. The top position for the switch is the normal operation where the PC turns on and off based on the status of the ignition switch.

I appretiate your efforts to get it through my thick skull but i just don't don't understand how to connect the wires (mainly going to the LED) by looking at the diagram; with my limited knowledge reading (electronic) diagrams, you almost have to spoonfeed me where each and every wire goes or i will surely screw it up
Thanks for your help.
EDIT: After looking at JimmyFitz's diagram for about a week, it finaly dawned on me!
Here it is wire-by-wire and it works beautifully.
P.S. heed the warning about the resistor on the LED!

Hey treetop777...I got it working now. I pick up a (680 ohm resistor) and a (DPDT mini center-off toggle switch). This switch have 6 pins on it and you have to use the 2 first pins and the 2 middle pins. http://home.austin.rr.com/soloxp/ima...T%20Switch.JPG
Thanks man.
