Noise issues with hardwired inverter

I get a ton of engine whine coming through my inverter. Whats the best way to kill the noise?

Only happens when my zune is charging.

Thanks!

So many questions
Where is the Zune connected for power?
Is the Zune also connected to your head unit?
How do you ground your pc?

DC power to cigarette adapater -> inverter -> usb hub -> zune into HU.

No pc involved.

I suggest hard-wiring the inverter to the battery.

I'd ditch the inverter for a point of load source ( my hub needs 6vdc ).
You could probably find one at RadioShack for $20 that gives you the voltage/amperage you need.

way too many power conversions there..................

If charging the zune as simply as possible is your wish, just get a usb 5v cig lighter plug in. Radio shack has them for around 10 bucks..........

Used for ipods and such.

Cheers

The inspiration to install the inverter came from me being sick of only getting one usb port ala cigarette adapter. The noise remained just the same.

Suggest just butchering the hub for power only and hard wiring it in at a different location? What's wrong with my inverter to be more specific?

Thankyou very much.
