150W inverter-> docking station and laptop. Not working!

One question..

I have Dell D600 laptop, with docking station. I had to buy power inverter (12V->230V, 150W) so that I can connect my laptop to the docking station. Now that I connected inverter to cigarette adapter in my car, and laptop to inverter I can't get enough power to the laptop via docking station. So laptop doesn't start and socking station isn't working also. I must be stupid, but shouldn't 150W be enough for the docking station and laptop?

Did some searching from google.. and found out that 150W inverter could be too small for laptop and docking station. Don't know how to count the right power, but 300W should be enough. 150W might be near the limit that it won't work. Didn't first believe that that combiantion can take so much watts... but tomorrow I'm going to try bigger one.. let's see how it goes.

Edit: How hard can this be?! I started to think about it, and I have to use inverter because My DC->DC Dell car-adapter can't provide enough power to the laptop and docking station. If it's only laptop, i can use dells car adaptor. But then I face problem, that how can I solder laptop's powerbutton wires. I have allready done it for the docking station, but it's not working... damn...
This is small thing, but actually big problem for me..
