I have the new M4-ATX PS and a question about it's Amp thump. I know you can use jumper J6 and or J18 pin 8 and 9. The question is the amp just have one wire for the remote. How do I connect the two pin for the amp one wire remote?

The only way I see it working is to ground 1 wire the car and use the other to the amp remote. Is that how it should go?

I will test out mine tomorrow to see how the jumpers output and I will let you know what I find.


By the way, do you have your powersupply hooked up in your car yet? Does it correctly power off your PC 5 seconds after you turn off your car?

I just tested it in the house with my amp tester....and it works. It takes like 6sec to start the pc and about 6-7sec to shut it down. I would like to do a ignition override on led too....but I don't know what resistor to get for the led.

The pc is a 939 Amd 3000+ on board nvidia 6100, 1g of memory, a 3.5 250g hd and a usb sound blaster...All seem to work fine.

The amp turnon is just a 12v signal for the amp, so you only need one of those pins, the mpegbox products and all other psu's i have seen with amp turnon always have 2 pin across from eachother but only one has the 12V signal. Just measure which one is the actual 12V signal.

That turn-on signal is also designed to drive a small relay which in turn sends 12v to the sense lead on the amp. You're gonna have problems if you hook the amp's sense lead directly to the M4.

Disregard the above info. I hadn't had my coffee yet. The M4 can supply enough voltage for the remote turn on. I was thinking amp POWER, not SENSE. Sorry about that. If your amp DOESN'T have a remote sense(it would have to ancient), then my statement is correct.
