The correct power supply

I plan on putting together a carputer using this motherboard:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...304167&lang=en

I took the mobo and processor out of a pc I had laying around that I don't plan on using anymore. The pc has/had a 108w psu. I won't be running a cd-rom or a standard HDD (I'll be using a solid state drive).

The problem I'm having finding the right psu is the connector. Almost all the psu units I've come across have a 20-pin atx connector. My mobo has a 24-pin connector.

I'm I blind or am I just missing something?

Thanks!
Mike

your board needs an ATX 2.2 power supply (24 pin) the car ones are generally ATX 1 (20 pin). You should be able to either splice your old 24 pin connector on or add the extra 4 pins as per wiring diagram http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATX .

Are you sure it had a 108 watt total power supply? That seems far too small for anything Athlon 64 related!

The M4-Atx has a 24 pin connector.

Plenty of 20 to 24 pin ATX cable converters available, try a web search - here is one(checked store first but did not see one) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...re)-_-12201001

That's what I thought too, but it's true.

Here's the pc it came out of:

Thanks for the info guys. I figured it was something simple like a converter, but I wanted to be sure that wasn't a problem.
