Yes, I followed the pinouts listed there and the pinouts listed on Intel diagram for the D945gclf2 exactly and I watch the capacitor next to the connector burn in half.

If this pin out is correct, then something else went horribly wrong here, because, yes, this was hooked up to exactly match this, I ran individual wires because I had them available to do it. When I turned it on, the capacitor burned up. And I can not get the power supply to turn on right now. My mother board is still ok, I can still run it form a desktop supply and the USB ports on the mobo are still functioning.

Something else had to have gone wrong because it's worked fine for me. Still does in fact.

New Firmware

Hey everyone here is the firmware 1.3 that according to mini-box does this:

07/04/2008 Firmware 1.3: Thump OFF timeout starts when rails are started

07/04/2008 Firmware 1.3: Thump is active ON only during the rails are ON

07/04/2008 Firmware 1.3: In modes 1-7 if Ignition is still ON and PC was manually shut down (from OS) M4 won't go to Hardoff state instead it will go to 5V standby and wait for start pulse.

*Note: If you see a small 8 pin SMD device(U7 is noted on silk screen) mounted on the back of the pcb, you need frimware version 2.0 If not, you need firmware version 1.3*

The 8 pin SMD is a thermal sensor.

Also attatched is version 2.0.

I don't know if I have the exact thermal sensor you are talking about, but my M4 is on F/W 1.3 and it is sending me temperature readings. What is in F/W 2.0?

not exactly sure, something went wrong with my micro controller and the guys at mini-box sent me both and the thing I said about the thermal sensor is what they sent me in an email. but I would say if you have 1.3 that is the latest for the model you have.

I have a few questions???
#1.So does the M4 come with a cable to connect to the MB on/off switch?
#2. the USB cable is only used if you want to alter the settings on the M4, it is not a requirement?
#3. If you set your pc to hibernate with the button press, the M4 will tell the pc to hibernate. But looking at the manual, the longest the m4 will stay on is 2 hours. Does this mean that the M4 will only hibernate for 2 hours, or is the hibernation state of the pc not affected by this?

You only need the USB to monitor your voltage and PSU temp, or to do advanced timings. When the m4 turns off it will send an off command to the PC, (button press), if you have that set to hibernate it hibernates and stays off. There is an auto latch which is how long the M4 will keep the 5v usb line powered on after shutdown before it goes total power off.

I don't remember if the pc power cable is in the cable pack for the m4 or not.

#1 No
#2 Yep not a requirement
#3 Hibernation is not affected by power as the RAM state is written to the hard disk. Once hibernated, power can be turned off. When power is reapplied the pc will resume from hibernation fine

Thanks. I was pretty sure about the USB and hibernation but just wanted to check.

Can anyone give me a hand here? My M4 works fine, except the USB connection won't work. It shows up as an "Unknown Device" in Device Manager. I tried installing the driver manually, but it told me it wasn't the right driver. I've also tried swapping USB ports, with no luck.

blk02si will become famous soon enough
Just hooked mine up, what an awesome unit!

Its pushing :

ASUS M3A78 with a dual core AMD Black CPU
4GB 1066 Corsair RAM
32 GB Super * Talent SSD

Its on the the test bench with a beefy 13.5v 11 amp power supply.

The boat it is going into is a 24v circuit, which is why I chose the M4.

SeaRay 680ss is the vessel this M4 will call home.

My device was not recognized if DIP SWITCH 1 was down.

Actually after few fine working boot ups with M4-ATX it didn't work at all... New device coming...

What I noticed playing with this PSU, if any dip´s are on, the USB only work´s with the PSU on, with all dip´s off the USB work´s always (PSU on or off).

Hope this help you.

Sorry my English, I’m from Brazil.
