m1-atx to m2-atx

Is there anyway to wire a m1-atx power supple to a mother board that has the 2x2 power port. I bought an atom processor and mobo but I don't have a m2.

Tapping into the 12v from a hard drive power connector MIGHT work, but I wouldn't count on it.
I'd bit the bullet and get a PSU that has the 4-pin 12v output like an M2, high-output Opus, DSATX, etc.

I figured that but I did not want to wait.

You can buy adapter cables for this very purpose. I have used one many times. Either the power supply will have enough oomph to power up the board or it won't. I've never had any hardware damage when it didn't work. But YMMV.
