Publish = make a book and sell it

But it is easy to make money and you dont need to be employed by someone else to do it. You can make up for your genetic disadvantage by doing grunt work. Rake leaves. Walk Dogs. Shovel driveways. Something I liked doing was house sitting. People go on vacation, you get the house keys. Water plants, feed the pets, turn the lights on and off that sort of thing. Very easy, and great money.

There are lots of different things you can do, $1200 is easy money when you dont have any other expenses.

Absolutely. Inventing and building is hard work. Nobody hands you anything. It's scratch, scratch, scratch, give up, throw away, start over and scratch, scratch, scratch. If you feel dejected by that, well guess what? Join the club.

Everything I've done with my setup lately to make it better and more stable has made it worse and less stable. At one point, I'm sitting in the car with the dash, center console, and a car full of tools thinking that the best thing to do would be to stack all this stuff up in a pile and set it on fire. At least it would give me the satisfaction of watching it all burn nicely.

Everything has been working against me. I've got completely full days of work, family requirements on nights and weekends and just not enough time to deal with these problems, thank you very much. Hard work, effort, thought, and retracing my steps for the 100th time yielded a smooth and working system this evening. The car is back in order and everything -every freaking piece of the system is working like I want it to.

I guess I could have given up and I guess you could give up, but I wouldn't. Getting a job and working for a goal is very motivating. It's grunt work, but really motivating. Decide that the real limiting factor here is that you don't have any money to spend on the materials you need to succeed and CHANGE THAT. Decide that you *are* going to do this and step one is to earn enough money so you can BUY the expertise you need in the form of controllers and batteries.

Take a course at school or at the local vo-tech on how to weld. You might be able to build your own frame as part of your project. You can almost certainly use their stuff to make it.

Once you remove the money issue from the equation, you'll find that it will go smoother.

And for heaven's sake, don't let a bunch of idiots on an internet forum make you feel badly about yourself. You ought to feel great - this thread has been the most entertaining thread I've ever participated in and its not all about the joke being on you.

Seriously, take control of the situation and make the changes you need to make in order to accomplish your goal. Believe me, building a go-kart is not a lofty goal. You can do it.

i was also thinking of the 12V i have now. what could i power with that?
( i was also thinking of making a shed in my back yard with christmas lights(light but little power) and that as my workshop?

with solar panels on the rouph of the shed of course

(i will also keep my gokart in there then and just switch the (solar connector) to the kart in the rain(it will still get some in)

Think about it. Your R/C car has batteries and a speed control in it. Why? The speed controller allows you to vary the amount of power going to the motor. Otherwise the motor would run at full power all the time.
