You'll be lucky to get much out of a solar panel that size.
4.8W from a panel much larger : http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...4&doy=21m6#faq

Don't you watch Medium? You just need to build a little house for the solar panel, and if anything, you'll have too much power. To burn off the extra power, you'll probably want to put something like an air-horn with its own little compressor, otherwise the car will catch fire.

Also, be careful with the new high efficiency solar panels, they can actually suck sunlight from the surrounding area. This means that your R/C car would be in a 5-6 foot wide zone of absolute darkness, so you'll probably want to also put a small light on the roof so you can see where it is.

Sure thing, just Google 'Illudium PU-36 Explosive Space Modulator', there's a guy named Marvin who sells them. Remember, it's vital to attach the +/- poles correctly or else there's a chance you'll generate a Higgs-Boson Boson cascade and you'll end up with an infestation of theoretical particle phyisicists in your neighborhood. They're the devil to get rid of.

would it work?

Will this work to keep the car running when it is light our side and when its dark to just run off of the battery?

Or will the Battery be used at all times?

the battery is a 1500milliamps and is 7.2 volts.

You shouldn't need to use the battery, at night you just turn the solar panels upside down or reverse the polarity. That should work as well as the rest of the advice so far.

But what about that great explorer who was a midget in the land of giants, and then was a giant himself in a land of small shrunken people, wasn't his name Gullible?

Are telling me that wasn't real as well?
