B&D 400W Inverter Fault LED? (real time help?)

I have 2 Black and Decker 400W Inverters (#PI400AB), I got them for the two vehicles going down to OBX to power laptops and other stuff. This inverter comes with a cig adapter and battery clamps.
I'm on one of the inverters right now on the trip down right now, the other inverter doesn't power anything.
The Orange LED shows up, what does this mean? I've tried switching the cig connectors, no dice, and opened it up to check the fuses, both 25amp fuses fine. Any idea?

ran into the same problem with my old man's camper. when you use the adapter it only allows 200 watts,so you have to wire it to the battery for the full 400 watts.

yeah, that's what I was thinking, but the other identical one, works fine powering my macbook, cell phone charger and ipod usb charge.
The LED is constantly orange, never green and the unit doesn't power a thing.
