Powering laptop

Can anyone suggest an inexpensive way to powering my laptop, 19v 3.42A, from my car? If anyone has any links to a step-up circuit, that would be useful too. Thank you!

http://store.mp3car.com/Carnetix_CNX..._p/pwr-010.htm. I did not use it for a laptop, but for the AOpen Mini, this is by far the best power supply I tried. I switched to an ATX mobo and got the M3-ATX... man... nothing but trouble... I miss my P1900. If my M3 did not give me this much trouble I'd sell you my P1900 for cheap, but they way things are looking now, I just might have to go back to my old setup

I was hoping for something quite a bit cheaper, I will keep this in mind though. It would require a bit of modification, but I plan on using an external display from the laptop anyway.

Check ebay for an auto power adapter for your model laptop.

Kensington 33197 Notebook AC/DC Power Adapter 120W

cut the cig lighter cable and tied into the cars 12V

I know the wires on the cig lighter is slow, how come we have to use 10 gauge or less wire to power the desktop(shuttle pc w/m2)? is it because the length of the cable? can someone explain this to me. i am new.
