m2-atx resets

Hi guys,

Sorta pulling my hair out with this one. I've looked round the forums and i dont wanna install a switch (easy way i know). I just want to get to bottom of this.

Basically i have it set up like this, someone point out if i have it wrong.

ATX CAR
Red ------------ 12v Constant
White ---------- Ignition
Black ------------ Ground
Green ------------ In with above Ground.
Blue ------ Not used
Yellow ---- Not used

When i turn ignition on Pc powers up, get the amp thump ill sort that later through blue cable. Once i turn engine on it resets the PC rather than gracefully powering it down. I have it on 30secs/2hours. Also when i turn ignition off it resets again rather than powering down gracefully.

I've seen a lot of posts regarding the m2-atx is it that bad ior just misunderstood. My wiring all seems good, i've used a multimeter on relevant cables, i do get a drop to 10v when cranking engine, but the m2-atx is supposed to be able to go down to 6v unless its in dummy psu mode. which it aint.

Hope someone can help me out.

Hmm I think I may have ran into this issue myself. I would check your bios options in the power settings to make sure the computer stays off after power failure.

yeah i've got that turned off in bios. i've even bought a new heavy duty battery so i know its not that aswell. its fricking annoying though.

come on someone must have had this problem before. well i know people have but ive been through most stuff that solved it for them and to me it seems like a m2-atx problem.

Either one of three things happening here:
1. You have constant and IGN backwards
2. You havent set your pins yet and it is acting like a dumb power supply. Therefore, it does not have the any of the protections, such as the delayed shutdown interval while cranking.
3. Your car drops way below the running threshold voltage while cranking.

My money is on 1 or 2.

where'd you hook the green to? I dont have a green, just black white red. Got any pics?

It sounds like you simply put the on/off wire from the M2 to your mobo's reset pins instead of the power pins... Simple mistake, but sounds like a classic case.
