building a 12v stabilizor?

hey
i have a 15" lcd monitor i'd like to mount in my car to my carpc, it sais on the back of it that it need 12v dc can i just connect it to the car battery or will the voltage difference in a car (11-14v) destroy it
if so which is the easiest way do build a 12v stabilizor? it sais on the screen also that it's rated for 3.0 amps?
