To leave the PC on for a few minutes for short stops.
Say you stop at a convenience store to get a beverage. If you leave the PC on for 10 minutes before it initiates shutdown, you can get your beverage and you won't have to reboot (or resume from hibernate) when you get back in your ride.
This may not be a function
you would use, but it is something that is useful for others.

According to page 2 of the
User Guide, you're interpreting the function of JU1 correctly.

Just to be certain....
Do you have the BIOS set to power on when power is restpored? If so, turn this off.
Also, do you have the 2-wire lead running from J7 on the Opus320 to the power switch headers of the motherboard? If so, have you tried reversing one end of this lead?
Do you have the Opus320 set to ATX Push button mode or AT mode? If so, it should be in Ignition Switch mode using JU2-9.
If the above two are set up correctly...
Try setting the JU1 jumper to the lowest time, boot the PC, then turn off the ignition and actually watch the PC to see what happens.
Does it try to hibernate?
Could it be taking a long time to enter hibernate?
If it immediately hibernates with JU1 set for no delay, then try adjusting the delay and testing again.
Repeat until you achieve the results you want.
