Best power supply for LS-373...

Hi,
Can someone tell me which is best power supply which I can use in my new carpc:
Commell LS-373
Intel P8400 CPU
2GB DDR3 So-DIMM
SSD

With PSU I will power next things too:
-8" LCD
-GPS board
-On motherboard I will have UMTS modem & WLAN n draft card
-few USB bevices(TPMS, PDC, rear camera)

All I need is:
-adjuteable low voltage threshold
-adjusteable timers
-allow me use S3 sleep

In old carpc Im using DSATX but doesn't work ok(If I enable S3 sllep psu do not monitor voltage and drain my battery). Im contact mpegbox support and didn't receive any response so Im looking for some other PSU.
Motherboard have P4 power connector na need DC 12V.
Thanks for help.

Regards, _Dejan_

I realy need power supply...
So I need something that work from input 6-16V output must be 12V.
Operating temperature must be from -20°C to 60°C
Must have low voltage detection, adjustable timers and must support S3 sleep.

Im look for DSX12VD but I can't get it anywhere in europe. From mp3car store shipping cost to much for this little thing... Im contact zootjeff(by email), order and tehnical support but without success...

Im hoping that I will receive some direction where I can look and what can buy but look that I will not get any help :S

Hey Dejan, how are ya!?
The only PSU I can recommend is the OPUS 320...can you get it where you are?

Hi,
Im ok
Im looking Opus 320 specifications but:
-Shut Down Delay Time can be set min 10s (Im allways use 5s and wold like use it now to) but this is not so important
-Dimension: 186mm x 96mm x 18mm I can't put this big thing on my dash It is to big.

and I think I will have problems because my motherboard doesn't have ATX connector and have only P4 connector for power... So I think I can have problems with detection if carpc is turned on or off.

I know that M2-ATX is not useable because Im have it and have problems with detection states. If Im in right moment turn on and turn off ignition It is normaly boot and ignition has been off...

In our country I can get only M1-ATX, M2-ATX, M3-ATX, M4-ATX and few others. I can buy power supply anywhere in europe or other country but shipping must be cheap(not 30-50$)...

My OPUS shuts down WELL under 10 seconds once it gets the ACC shut down...I'd even say under 5 seconds...closer to 3.

I wonder...can you put a jumper on the ATX cable from the PSU (Grn/Blk) to trick it into thinking it's attached to a mainboard?
Then maybe the OPUS will function properly on power up/shutdown?
I think it would still send the power off state to the mainboard switch for proper shutdown/startup...

As far as the M2, M4, etc...stay away from those!

Hello DeJan,
Can I recommend the Carnetix 2140? I've been using mine for a while alternatively powering my MacMini, or my Commell LS-372

Works very well, I'm pretty happy with it.

It would be more than sufficient powering that setup, as my LS-372 is very similar, except have 2gig Socket P cpu (vs your 2.26gig), and then a Seagate 7200 rpm 2.5" drive vs your SSD.

So, power consumption from both systems will be similar.

Enjoy, I'm looking forward to your new carputer!

Ah, good you got that one then

Keep us posted on the memory issue, let's hope that takes care of it. I nearly bought the LS-373, but couldn't justify getting rid of the LS-372 - to few differences, and both will perform very well in carputer application.

Good luck there!

IIRC, galvitron used a DSX12VD power supply. Have you looked at that? It's small and uses a P4 connector.

I don't know if it supports S3 sleep.

Currently, my DSX12VD is powering my carPC with 4usb devices, LCD, & HD radio.

Im looked it and looks very good. Before P2140 Im using DSATX and it is never drain my battery!!!
I can't find this DSX12VD in any shop in europe. If I buy it from mp3car shop shipping cost $50 then I must pay on duty +20%(VAT) + 5% import customs, so this is bigest problem... I don't know why shipping cost so much... If I send it from europe to USA shipping cost 13€ with tracking&priority...

So if someone know for any shop where I can buy DSX12VD I buy it imediately...
