How to power a dc-dc psu computer at home?

Ok, my question is this. I want an easy way to power my computer with a dc-dc psu when I am doing "maintanence" at home. Stuff like transfering movies, music, etc. The way I've done it so far is just leave the car running while I'm doing these tasks. I'd like to be able to just bring it into my house and "plug it in". Could I modify a regular power supply to supply the 12V power the my dc-dc psu? If so how hard would it be to do? If not too hard could you tell me how to do it. I have a few extra laying around I could use. Or could I put a regular psu in the case along with the dc-dc and wire them both into the motherboard and harddrive at the same time? It would be a hastle having to swith the connections between psu's.

Artificially load the 5v line. Most PC PSUs don't cope well with just the 12v line being loaded.

Rob

yeah, i got it working... (plugged the AT psu to an old mobo,,,) it only did 11,6V ... (the Opus turned it self on..) .. but after 5 min, it self powered down.. im going to have a volt-meter and check if its the PSU thats powering down, or if its the opus that cant take 11,6V as a power source...
