Another M2-ATX Question / Problem

Hello guys Here we go again.

I have the Intel D945GCLF2 mother board.

I just bought my M2-ATX and i have checked the Wiring 5 times, and my best mate who has the same PSU with no issues on his end.

I have the PSU running currently in Mode 2

I Turn my Switch ON and the computer boots into Windows Vista SP1 Perfect and very fast.

I press my switch off and the computer shuts down and turns off for 3-5seconds and boots back into windows.

OR

I press Start > shutdown > OK and the computer shuts down and turns off for 3-5seconds and boots back into windows.

The Remote wire has 0.00Volts running to it when the switch is "OFF"

when the switch is on it has 12.46v

I made a short and separate Remote switch because i though that might have been my issue but even after making another short one in my boot i am still getting the same problem.

I am going to go home after work and check everything ONE LAST TIME and touch base on this I am more than sure everything is fine and i have everything correct.

The P4 power supply that goes from the PSU to the Mobo i had to make my self as i couldn't buy one.

I just copied both of them to each other. so i think that is correct...

thePost i made earlier with this problem i thought might have been the issue I formatted and reinstalled windows as it was on my 24V PSU before i got M2-ATX but that wasn't the case my issue is still happening.

Update the bios to the latest version

hey dude yeah i updated it and it all worked...

It still hasn't fixed my issue.

I am not thinking 2 things.

1: windows vista (Bull **** what would the OS have anything to do selling it to turn on!)

2: P4-P4 Power Adapter (i made it my self. and just joined all 4 wires to the other side that they go on.)

Don't know what your problem is then as the bios update sorted my problem.

It wont be anything to do with the os so u can rule that out, and I can't see it would be your cable either really but i could be wrong (Usually am lol)

Look in the bios for a setting "upon power failure" (or something like that) and choose to "do nothing" or "stay off" (or something like that).

Ok Ta will do i have currently set it to "Stay Off"

and i have the other power feature set to "S3" but if i set it to "S1" it doesn't seem to do anything any ways...

I would put the m2 in "dumb" mode then manually switch the MB on/off and see what happens..

ok will do, at the moment,

I have it in Mode 2

I have two Switches on my Dash.

1 12volt Constant to Computer

2 Mother Board On/Off

so i flick the first switch and supply it with power.

then press and hold the 2nd button down for 2 seconds. and she boots into windows.

when i want to shut her down.

I press and hold the 2nd button down for 2 seconds and she initiates the shutdown.

then when my 7" LCD turns blue and looses its VGA signal i turn the 12Volt constant off..

and each time i boot into windows she does not try to do the system recovery thing so i am not damaging it in any way.

I am running out of time to get her sorted now so i have to make a relay up for my whole stereo unit as there isn't enough Juice coming out of J6 to power all my amps and capacitors up via remote.

I leaving for a road trip on Thursday morning next week and i have lots of other **** to sort out first.

thanks very much for all your guys help i will be making my boot nice and neat now and cleaning all my mess up and leaving it how she it for a while.

She'll have to do as she is till i get more time to work out whats wrong with her.

I will be installing the same mobo (almost) with the m2-atx. What other accessory will I need to power this at home for initial setup or maintenance? I know I need the power brick but what cable or accessory kit has the DC jack in order to plug in the adaptor.

well i would highly recommend installing window and everything when its in ur car with the M2-ATX.

I didn't and i am experiencing problems... but i have formatted and started again but still experiencing problems.

its just another thing that could cause a problem.

you should get all the connectors for the PSU...

u will need a P4 - P4 connector and if thats not in the box then you will need to find 2x old PSU from ur desktop computer and cut the cords and make ur own one.

I got the same power supply, same board, and had the same problem until I fixed it.
See here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/powe...s-process.html, post number 8. My issue was that my M2-ATX was shipped without a jumper on it so it was in P0 mode instead of P1 which is recommended. See if that's your issue.
