Still searching for THE ultimate PSU?

Hey guys,
Yes its been a while...
I havn't really been on this forum for quite a long time.
when last time i was here i remember some one was working on this low temp, special design power supply but as i didn't hang around at the time Im not sure what was the end result.
I just had a quick look through the power supply section of the forum and it seems like people still searching the ultimate power supply for they setup...
Can some one please sum up the current status of the DC power supply that people are using at the moment.
From what i understand there are new so called casetronics 2699r DC supplies but then dont have wide enough input range and then there is the opus (If i got the name right) supplies that are more power full but cost quite a bit... So what happen to all these home made designs?
It good to see that sproggys design is still alive and used throughout the MP3car community.

Im kind of coming back in the MP3car project and hoping to finish my project that started so many years ago...
I do have some backup plans for the powersupply but if there are currently designs that i can use/buy theni might as well use them as i dont have much time to design my own again.

Thanks guys

LEX have a 110w DC board that accepts 10-14vdc - costs about $120USD (£85) + taxes though..
