comp wont even Work..pSu

Hi,

Let me see I'm using an EPIA 800, 266 megs, 40 gig 2.5", and a dvd-rom (but barely use it)

And the connections to the comp are:
-video rca out
-2 usb (1 for touch touchscreen)
-serial extension cable (for gps)
-ps/2 extension (for gps)
-audio out

The way its powered now is a standard 300w power supply (AC) and a inverter. The inverter says "300w continous, 600 peak" but from the looks of it it may be a $19.99 product.

When I finally test the comp today, I got nothing on the screen. But the comp would boot up like it was actually working.

So is it a power supply problem? I have a 150w opus on the way, I hope that'll help.

hi,
Did you select jumper j11? Manual page 2-17.
this jumper selects either RCA video or S/P DIF as the enabled function on the dual purpose port.

yes I did, even the pal/ntsc setting.

But anyway the screen would fade to white when I turned on the comp. Not it won't show anything on the rca out. I've check the cable with my dvd player, so thats not the problem.

Again the comp boost up and the Hd light flickers like it should. I have gotten the comp to work in my car before when I was first testing it. I just can't see whats wrong now, I haven't touched anything.

Samc,

I'm assuming you have, but didn't type it in your description BUT have you tried powering it directly from an 115v A/C and not though the Inverter?

ShinumoKumda helped me fix the problem. I had to ground the rca video out. I never knew you had to do that, go figure.

And yes I've tried the computer with a regular AC outlet.

Funny though at home everything worked just fine, but in the car I have all these little quirks. The computer is up and running now and even the fuzzy screen problem seems to have been fixed as well.

Can't wait for that damm Opus to get here.
