Opus ATX and ITX PSU - Difference?

Hi - I am doing all my current work with an ATX computer which I have spare. If things go well I will upgrade to ITX at some future point in time.

Now, I figured I would save myself some PSU hassles by just buying the OPUS ones (don't have the skills to make up the sproggy one). However, from what I have read on this forum it seems that they have two different PSU's. One for ITX and one for ATX. What is the difference? Can the ATX one be converted for ITX use at a later point in time?

Why is there a difference in power supplies? ITX is not limited to a smaller power supply than ATX.

I think the ITX one is basically a lower power, and can therefore be produced/sold cheaper than the ATX one. The ATX unit will power an ITX with power to spare, the other way round will not work.

I think there are other slight differences in them, but nothing to do with ATX/ITX. IIRC the 150watter can be scheduled for 10 sec, 10, 20, 40 minute shutdown etc, where the 90watter is only 10 sec or 40 minute? (or something like that). The 90 watter has a remote-start option, the 150 I think does not.

But from an ITX/ATX point of view, they'll both work for ITX.

So sounds like the 150Watt one is the one to go for then. It will be more flexible in the long run....

They both use the same connectors and all that right?

Certainly the connectors to the motherboard are the same (ATX block), and the connections for the car will be similar if not the same (basically ground, permanant live and accessory).
