250watt is quite powerfull for a carmp3 PSU, but its way to expensive. $ 194

You could better make a sproggy psu. Lots a cheaper, but less powerfull

I would love to find a 1U 12V ATX PSU.
I love my current setup, but I still have these delusional dreams of putting in a 1U P4+ rack server in to my car (it would fit PERFECT in my glove compartment).
I am sure it will never happen, but it would be fun to piece one together.

I wrote to PC Power and Cooling and they still make a 1U DC power supply.

"Yes, we sell a 100-watt 1U power supply that look just like this one in its dimensions:
http://www.pcpowercooling.com/produc...ndex_hp_1u.htm
but the back is different (there is no AC plug). It is good for a P3 system or even a P4 system with integrated features on the motherboard. Price is $119.00 and can only be ordered by phone. It has a 3 year warranty and has a voltage range of about 9 to 15 V."

Looks like your standard Keypower power supply. They all pretty much run for this price.
