My Cut & Paste PS idea

Hi ,
Here is an idea for a Power supply.

Use ITPS For the 12 V power supply . Cut the 5VSB from the ATX connector and connect it to the battery using 7805 and a Low Voltage Disconnect circuit to disconnect at 10.8 Volts . This way I can go to Standby mode without worrying about the baterry.

Also the GPIO3 of the PIC12C508A can be used as the input for the finding if the car light is switched on? and GPIO5 can be used to trigger the parallel port or serial port of the PC to dim the LCD screen.

How do you think about the Idea ??

regards
Satish
