Tripp Lite Inverter/UPS combos

Is there any reason why one of these units wouldn't work great for running a carputer?

http://www.tripplite.com/products/pr...?productID=177
"Functions as an extended run UPS system, standalone power source and automotive inverter"

Except for the fact that they cost several hundred dollars, it seems like it could work for running a high-watt PC.

Actually UPS systems have been covered many times before. This is a Inverter/Charger combo. It's designed to run off battery power for long periods of time. Of course, 500 watts is probably overkill for most people.
