800 - M1000 upgrade ( power??)

Just upgraded my EPIA800 to a M1000, in the old style cubid case with a 55W supply

I cannot even get the motherboard to power using the supplied mains 12v adapter - however it will boot from a battery.
In the car it struggles to spin the HDD and when it does it only stays on for a few mins. I need to check voltages etc,
but im only using 1 HDD in this - does the M1000 take a lot more power than the epia800 ? Is it unsuitable for use with a 55w morex supply?
If so what other PSU options do I have ( preferably not opus - too expensive )
can I buy a new cubid case with a more powerful supply designed for M1000's?

now im confused the new "M1000 compatible" cases still seem to have a 55W supply - has it been revamped somewhere? is anyone running a m1000 with a 55w morex ?
thanks
James

Yup...I am

Mine will work from battery (when engine running) or the mains adapter, but not from battery when engine is off.

However due to the lack of powering hard drive when engine off, and it restarting on crank, I am getting myself an Opus soon (i'm also wanting the auto startup/shutdown - for transferring new files when I pull up at home at night )

Erm, some black, slimline thing, with a red hdd light, green power light and a pair of same-sized power/reset buttons, and a slimline cdrom opening on the right hand side.

Jamez,
why don't you enter you setup into the calculator on http://www.mini-box.com/powersimulator.html

Even Playing DVD's with a Eden-800, a 3.5in drive, a 5.25in DVD drive and a 40mm fan its more than the morex 55w DC-DC board can pump out.

Probably the Cubid case.

I'm powering a M10000N, 256mb, 5400rpm 40GB hd, and slim dvd off of the same one.

ok, checking voltages and its my car battery at fault for the hdd probs - running off a 12v bat it's fine - just checked power calc - requirement is more than mains adapter can deliver ( only about 45w ) I can only assume this is the problem..
