has anybody ever overloaded a opus 150W PSU?
with all this talk of of measuring amps, volts and watts to make sure your PSU is powerful enough, i'll ask this question to determine if the Opus is right for me.
has anybody ever overloaded an OPUS 150W psu? if so, how much stuff were you running on it? 150 watts seems to me like plenty so if everyone says "no" to this question, i'll just get that.
i'm trying to run the lilliput 7inch touchscreen, VIA 10000 (the 1 gig celeron m/b) and GPS off the OPUS. (and USB wireless LAN for uplaoding music and movies)

I am running my m10000, two 5W fans, two Hi-speed hubs off of the 5V line and my lilliput off of the 12V line. I also have a slim-dvd drive, ATI AIW 7500 VE, PCMCIA card, and 120GB WD 3.5" drive all connected to my Opus 150W.

Check out my project. Everything PC related is powered off the Opus 150watt accept for the cooling fans.

My question if does anyone else here run a Motherboard other than a mini... like a standard ATX mobo with an Opus... My Carputer will be running a Soyo Dragon KT333 Ultra Platinum and I am wondering if thats gonna be able to hack it.. final plan is that mobo with 512DDR, DVD Rom, 80GB HDD 3.5", GPS, Wireless KB and mouse, Lilliput, nVidia GF4 MX440...

Don't do it twizted, the M10000 runs under 20 watts when loaded, a highspeed atx mobo with full blown processor will need a lot more, 3x that is my guess.

The AMD Athlon and Duron procs alone run at around 60 - 70 Watts.

ok.. I found them on http://www.mini-itx.com/store/default.asp?c=2 and noticed there are 3 1ghz systems.. up to $135 total... I am thinking the $135 would be better but the standard M10000 has all same features... and its $105... whats the diff?

I'm running an Anthlon XP 2000+ processor 512mb ram, 3.5" 5200 rpm hard drive on a regular mini-ATX motherboard with an integrated GeForce 4 video card along with a bunch of USB devices and 4 high speed fans off my OPUS with no problems at all. The OPUS is rock solid, dont listen to these infidels . My setup doesnt boot too well off an old standard 150 watt power supply, but I have had no problems with the 150 watt OPUS. Although its pushing the limits of it, I'm willing to wager you could probably do at least your bare system off the OPUS without a problem. You can always go external for the DVD, harddrive, and lilliput if you do have problems.

I'm stuck with the same questions!
Who is right?? Can you just run a regular PSU and BUY (not build) some kind of startup/shutdown controller?

OK, this is what I had running with the OPUS 150. A shuttle motherboard, two USB devices, gps on serial and using the keyboard PS2 connector for the powering of the gps, Xenarc 7inch monitor using the power rail from the opus, soundblaster Audigy 2 powered by the power rail of the opus also, 120 gig hard drive, 512 ddr memory, Celeron 1.9 processor, cooling fan for processor, 64 mg AGP Video card. I ran all of this with no problem with my opus. Another note, the power supply that came with the shuttle was also 150. The opus is one part that I would never go without,
