Lightbulb Contec 10.4" power...

I recently won a Contec 10.4" touchscreen off of ebay and was wondering if ne1 could help me determine the best method of powering it. Here are the specs for power

Power Supply

Input voltage: 12 VDC +/-5%

Instantaneous power outage: < 20msec*

Insulation resistance: 20M

Isolation voltage: 1.5 KVAC, (1 minute interval)*

Power consumption: < 18 VA

* = using power supply adapter IPC-POW12

So i guess what im really asking is if I would be able to power it straight from my battery, or if i need to get the power supply and an inverter. If you need anymore specs here is the website http://www.contecusa.com/?page=prod_...TOKEN=60088690.

Thanks

well, the +/- 5% would worry me, but dont get an inverter just to run your screen.

The 18 VA confuses me. If they mean Volts*Amps, then that's 18 watts (why didnt they just say so?) which is also 1.5A or 1500mA.

So, go to radio shack or wal-mart or circuit city and buy something like this. Make sure you get a multi-voltage adapter and not a single voltage adapter because the singe voltage adapters dont regulate the 12v

Make sure it can handle at least 1500mA. I bought one at walmart for like $18US that goes to 2000mA.
