Are Opus Generally Fairly Reliable Suppliers?

Hi all,

Last week I exchanged a few e-mails with Opus about getting one of their PSUs for my project.. then I PayPalled them the money. Since then I haven't heard anything from them... no confirmation or anything and they haven't replied to my e-mails for a good few days.

Are they normally slow at responding to e-mails or should I be getting worried?

Any comments welcome

Cheers,
Simon

This is a fairly common story, but everyone always gets their box in the end. Opus is just a very unorganized company.

Magma - Kris can get caught up and sometimes is slow in responding/shipping. I give my CC info to him and sent him an email with required info - I received the Opus about 12 days later. I had heard that sometimes it took a while for him to ship so I was no concerned at the time.

Then all of a sudden it showed up on my doorstep.

You know magma that I'd like to see that Opus unit in the flesh so a trip down the motorway might be in order

Cheers for the confidence boost guys, I might stop bugging him now. If I haven't heard anything by the end of the week I'll give him a buzz.

iG : I've paid $190 for the 150watt enclosed unit, they'll also do just the PCB module for $180 or one built into a bracket for the Shuttle Barebones for $200. Shipping to the UK was $30.

NJay, I'm *hoping* to have a lot of this in in time for the Brighton Celica meet... so you can have a full poke around then if you want! Knowing me, though, it'll be in bits in the back of the car still! Still got a few components to buy, though, I'm gonna need a bigger HDD and my old EPIA is not very happy about me running XP on it Might possibly order the new M10000 next month..

In fact, I've just ordered a new M10000 Nehemiah and a 160Gb HDD. All I need is the Opus to show up and I'll be grinning

Im waiting on mine... I have recieved no reply from Kris as of yet... and I sent the money last week.....
It is nerve racking waiting for this thing.... 200 bucks, and no word on the progress!! It's like sitting at a bus stop with no watch.... Even if you are told it is coming, it still seems like forever....

That's the problem, we haven't even been told their coming... unless I'd had the few words on encouragement from this forum I'd be thinking he'd legged it with my money. Not too good, really, is it?

He's had my money about 11 days now, and no confirmation or anything..!

I felt the same way about it when I purchased my Opus 90. If I hadn't been emailing Kris and asking a million questions before I purchased, I would have thought he/she fell off the face of the earth. I never got a order confirmation email or shipping/tracking info. The PSU just arrived one day. It took a couple weeks too, which was longer than expected - but it was around the holidays too. I get the feeling that they don't have these things sitting around ready to ship, that they build-to-order.

One thing that may encourage you guys is that when I was emailing Kris, I was told that Opus is looking at getting online ordering and updating the website. Hopefully they will do so soon.
