PW-70, ITPS and Power Button

Okay, I am a little confused here, need some help from users of the PW-70 and ITPS....

The ITPS has the small gage two wire (black and red) leed that is supposed to be connected to the MB Power Button connection.... right?

What is the similar leed (small gage, two wire (black and red)) on the PW-70 used for?

Looking at the PC board where these wires hook up it says 5V and G, and it always is giving out 5VDC.... on the package that the PW-70 came in says

"The 2 pin (black and red) connector is NOT the ON/OFF switch! To turn on/off your PC use the on-board on/off switch!"

How can a constant 5VDC supply have anything to do with the Power Button? What is it for???

What have you guys done with this leed from the PW-70?

yes the black and red wire go to the power button on the motherboard.

ignore the pw70 wires.

do this..

plug the pw70 into the mother board. plug the itps into the pw70, plug the itps into the battery, ignition power, and ground. also plug the itps into the motherboard power button switch. what you might want to do then is (if you are using the m10000 and c134 case) hook up the power button on the case to the reset switch on the motherboard in case you have problems and need a reset. kinda sucks when you have to turn the car off to reset the computer. heheh

Thanks siueclipse.... just let me clarify a few things to make sure I understand right.... when you say "yes the black and red wire go to the power button on the motherboard" you are talking about the ones from the ITPS, right?

I am using the M10000, but not the case you mention... case will be a custom one which doesn't exist yet.....

So what are the red and black lead on the PW70 for?

Yes. The ITPS black and red wire with the plastic connector goes to the power button on the motherboard.

The red and black on the PW70 aren't used. They would be used if you weren't using the ITPS in front of it and had the PW70 hooked straight to power.
