I think SDC is still needed.
With the price of a pure sine wave inverter and UPS and installation size, OPUS is much better but it only 150W. dammm.
My point exactly. the Opus costs nearly 200 dollars, and ONLY puts out 150W DC. That's why I opted to go with an additional 65AMP alternator for the computer (replacing the AC Compressor), a 300W (rms) Inverter (to 120vac) and then a 450W/700va (volt-amp) APC UPS (APC model SU700-NET, pure sine-wave output, over/under-voltage correction, Power Chute etc). Only problem I have right now is the UPS won't power up in car even when fully charged. I think it has something to do with the "Site Wiring Fault" protection that it has built into it. The "Site Wiring Fault" light comes on, so I think I need to make sure that:
- All Cases Commonly Grounded (DC->AC Inverter), UPS, & carPC
- Negative Prong on 120vac is Connected to Common Ground (Car Frame)
