Dc Dc convertor and Sumicom

Does anyone know if there is dc dc convertor and shut controller that can be used with the sumicom s300 (cdrom size machine). Kinda new to this hobbie any help would be appreciated. I don't know which ones would fit inside the case if at all. I know the unit is a 12vdc systems with an atx connector on the board. Any Help would greatly be appreciated.

I doubt anything would fit inside the case. However, if it's got a standard ATX connector, then the best thing for it would be an Opus.

Slightly OT, but where did you pick that unit up (if you're in the US)?

Thanks,

Paul

so who makes a small external psu for a resonable price. Also need a shut down controller that would also work with this machine.

As I said earlier, if it's got a standard ATX connector, then the Opus is the best bet, IMO.

It comes with nearly a foot of ATX cable, so you can place the Opus out of the way a little

Damn since I looked into it I don't think it has an atx connector on it. I wonder how I will be able to use a voltage regulator or a shutdown controller on it. Here is what it looks like, this is the link to the board layout: http://www.kingyoung.com.tw/images/s320/S320.gif It is DC12Volts but it doesnt appear to have an ATX connector on it. Is there anyway I can use a dc dc ps on it and more importaintly a shutdown controller ?

If you can figure out how the 12v deal works, you may be able to rig up an ITPS type device to the power input AND the power button for auto functions. This would require a little bitty bit on electronical knowledge, so if you're not comfortable don't do it. mini-box.com has posted the schematics and code for the ITPS if you desire building your own. I've built three personally.

The rep states that the DC DC Convertor is built into the unit

AC/DC Adaptor
Input 100~240V AC Universal
Output 12V DC

but if the dc dc convertor is built into the unit but it does not have any ATX power connector how the heck can I hook up a shut down controller and a ITPS to it. If I can't have those I think for my needs the unit is worthless.

That's what I got to...I then went down the road of using a UPS and inverter...The Inverter was going to be wired to the ignition, so when the key was removed, the inverter loses power, the UPS battery kicks in and runs its command to the PC (hibernate). But - the brick that powered my Latte would still be on and the UPS would try and power it. It sucked a suprising amount of juice, so now, I was going to wire the UPS powre button to the door locks. This would have likely worked: turn off ignition -> Ups tells PC to hibernate -(wait a little so hibernate completes, then) > lock doors which then powers off UPS.

But finally, I decided to chuck the whole thing: returned the PC (it also didn't like booting with a USB hub attached to it - real nice), and am awaiting delivery of a shuttle (yeah, much bigger, but..) and an OPUS. It just makes it all so much cleaner and I'll live with having a bigger PC than I wanted located in the trunk.

Yea I'm going with a C134 and via 10000N MB, 60GB 2.5" 72000rpm 8mb cache, 24x24x10 cdrw/dvd combo, 512mb memory. I wonder if the itps and the PSU found on this site and what not will fit in the c134. Hey can anybody else think of a better setup for me. It has to be fast and fit in a nice small case (don't wanna make my own.)
