Will an ITPS work with an ATX motherboard

I am a little curious how the ITPS works. When it switches the computer off, does it send a pulse on the power switch or does it just momentarily complete the circuit. I have heard both, but I need a definite answer.
Thanks in advance. I have the whole power thing worked out, I just need to know how it switches off the computer.

Not sure... but the epias are ATX, and that works.

If you mean the power on feature, yes. I haven't found a way to power an ATX board with just 12v though. Also the ITPS has a 6A self-resetting fuse, so you're limited to 72watts to power a board. The power on feature will still work though without trying to power a computer with it.

Does that make sense?

Perfect sense, thanks, I will be able to power the computer using a relay switched with the power wire fromthe itps anyway. I was just wondering about the power on/off feature. thanks again...
