I will see what kind of price I can get em for, but I doubt it will be better than $15? That is an awesome deal if they are standard ide...

coolness factor. Sometimes you just get a dvd and want to watch it right now. I also plan to burn files to dvd-rw and transfer.

And also can you source out slim SLOT loading dvd drives? they cost an arm and a leg on ebay.

Woah, hey now. I was just stating I managed to buy all of mine for $15. The computer store has no way of testing them from the broken laptops they get, so they sell them cheap.

I went to eBay to get my SLSL DVD, it was $15. It is the iMac drive, made by Matsu****a (or something like that) 8114 (I think is the number).... but I have yet to find an adapter that will take it from the Drive connector to a standard IDE cable. The iDot one is backwards, and I think all the ones you see on eBay are backwards too.....

There is one that is posted somewhere around here that is supposed to work, from AllMacs or something like that.... but it is $30 (twice what I paid for the drive)....

Sorry to muddy the water...

I got the same iMac drive....then called up a local Mac parts place and got the adapter for $15 tax included Canadian! (Roughly $10 US). Everything works perfectly. I guess the hard part is finding the adapter...

But I paid a lot more the actual drive itself...so in turn $15 for the drive and $30 for the adapter is still a pretty good deal for a SLSL drive...

You mean an adapter like I have on my slim line slot loading drive?

I think I'm gonna sell both the drive and adapter soon.
