opus wont start, ign wire...?

Hi!

Sitting in my car right now on my laptop, trying to install the opus 90w in an old Opel.

Connected the - and + to battery, and opus started blinking (short blink, 2.5 sec rest, and so on.) and computer doesn't start. Haven't conneced the blue ign-wire, do i have to use it, or can i get the computer to start in another way or any tips where i should connect the ign-wire, any wire behind the radio?

You need to find an ACC wire. This is a wire that shows 12v when the key is in the ACC position and the run position. You can find one either behind the radio or in the steering column harness.

for testing purposes, you can hook it to any 12V, just as samc said.

Personally, I'm never going to hook it up to ACC but to a manually switched 12V line.

Yes, you can hook it to any 12v wire but you also have to unhook it when you are done if the wire is constantly charged otherwise he would have to shutdown and startup manually everytime. My suggestion previously was in the event that he wanted it to work as advertised. Computer boots/comes out of hibernation when he starts the car and shuts down/hibernates when he turns it off. I actually plan on using a switch and relay along with the ACC wire so I can manually startup/shutdown if needed.
