Unhappy scared

Oy, so i took my power supply out of its housing to make it smaller...when i plugged it in it didnt wanna turn on and w/e so i got a tad freaked and just put the thing together...Ok but after running the computer for like 20 min i thought i smelled burning type smell. Idk if this is cause i had half the case off so i could smell it or what...im really freaked that i put it back with a wire touching something that its burning it up. Possible?
Yea i might end up going opus because of this incident (gave me a reason)

Did you add a fan comparable to the one in the original case? The smell may be your power supply overheating.

well. this is exactly why you aren't supposed to take the power supply apart. That and deadly current. Open it up, see if something is melting. Personaly, I'd not use that power supply on anything important, as it could fry and burn out equipment.

reminds me of when the power supply fan went out on one of my old computers. The power supply overheated and parts literally fell off inside. Of course, this was because they weren't soldered onto the board. The cheap *** taiwaneese PS was HOT GLUED together in some parts.
