believe me, it becomes a mess, I already had the pcb finished so i modified it, but when i get the real MAX pcb i`ll desolder everything and solder it on the Max Pcb.

(had to cut a couple of connections and make some bridges)

I think they must of been a bad batch like everyone is saying.

My 3.3 AND 5.0 lines would drop to crap, when ever I plug in the CPU. Without a load, it worked fine.

So instead I used the old MK3.5 board (it had max chips on, and it worked fine).

So i've changed my MK4.0 board to the MAX way, and so far so good. (I only have one chip this moment, but still boots up my EPIA M board fine).
12V = 11.8
5V = 4.8
3.3V = 3.2
CPU core = 1.325

So in short.
National = bad/cost money
Max = good/free

I doubt it. If this many people were getting bad chips it would certainly mean quality issues at nationals end that would be showing up with other customers, customers who are paying a lot more than we are and would raise a much larger complaint. Rampant issues like this just don't exist on products that have had a long life and especially on a process that was long ago perfected. I didn't analyze the ramifications of what you are trying to do but in general you can't just take 1 switching regulator and drop it in the place of another regulator without a serious analysis of the circuit.

hi, guys i,m new... just planned to start my carputer a month ago.Gathering all the hardware ,software and information i need. stumbled on sproggys power supply that led me here.

just have some simple question... i,m running a pentium mmx 133 ,1gb hd ,cd rom.soundblaster awe64 ,aopen mobo.old stuffs.

my pc doest seem to need the 3.3 v , and i,m not sure but does that auto shutdown and standby mode feature applicable in my case?

so should i built the mk 3.5 or 4 ? or just build the original sproggy(have problem with getting my hands on the transformer) (http://www.mygizmos.net/frames/index.html sproggy)

SOrry if i sound stupid. hope u guys can help me out.... thnks hope to hear from u guys asap.

Brother you sound like you have a at board ..... and i dont think SDC will be any good with AT board ... so suggestion is first get your hands on a ATX board ... it will make a lot of difference ..

AS for the PSU .. go for the MK 4.0 (WITH MAX CHIPS)
