Will a schematic be availible anytime soon?
I guess not...hes selling the kit.
Ok guys i like humor, but not on this thread..
I dont want to make the thread big with just silly humor.
"If your not part of the solution dont be the cause of my problem"
I would like it if you all could delete the silly posts. ASAP
Mastero,
I really think you should run your own forum for your comercial products...or atleast ask the moderator to setup one for you in here. In any forum you bound to get some silly post...just accept it.

Ricky, you can always extract the schematic from the PCB diagram he posted. IIRC, Mastero never posted a schematic for the MK3.5 either. If you search the sproggy threads, you will find schematics (posted by other users) for an earlier version of the Sproggy (very similar to the MK3.5). Also, if you look up the data sheets on the regulators, they include reference designs that are identical (except some of the component values) to those used on the Sproggy.

Thanks for the reply Rando...
Im aware of that, I was just replying for the other guy as I doubt Mastero will ever post the circuit diagram.
I dont mind ripping it from the PCB layout and have it on protel file for other poeple to see...but I dont like doing this to someone else design. Then again I guess it was originally copied from sproggy and based on manufacturers reference design anyway.

Well someone had said they counted 12 regulators and I was curious. Originally the layout was loading too slow for me to wait on but it worked finally today so I had a look at it. The 47uH regulators seems like overkill (aren't they US $3-4 a peice?). The 2678 runs at a higher frequency than the 2587 so the magnetics can be smaller. If I were going to go overkill it would be with the output capacitors as these directly control the output ripple, not the inductors.

WOW I didnt realised that until I looked at the PCB layout. The CMOS gate is still there from the old sproggy design?

I agree, the capacitors are also easier to obtain and cheaper.

It's true, this design requires more requlators but fewer inductors. Also, all of the regulators are easily obtained from National. The really basic ones (79xx series) can be obtained at Radio shack. As for the inductors, I think you might get away with using something a bit smaller. Then again, I don't design circuits for a living so you shouldn't listen to to any EE advice I give.
The double inverter generation of the PG signal (through the CMOS chip) should go away if Mastero integrates the TPS3510 chip. Based on his response to that idea, I assume he might be working on this very issue (among others).

mastero, i had a quick look at the pdf and i noticed that you included input pins for fan. will it close the fan during standby mode ??? this is very important to those who doesn't use shutdown controller (like me), also it would be better to make the sdc as an "add-on" pcb only since i myself has a second batt. to run my setup and does not need the sdc, it'll also help to keep the cost low (just my opinion tho).

If you don't need the SDC, just don't put the SDC components on the board.

ofcourse , this is the obvious way to do it..(except that you'll leave a wasted space) what i had in mind is that make it like an add-on module that you can attach, either sdc, thermal control, etc. isn't this idea cool mastero? this is what i've done with my mk3.5 based sproggy (details on the previous threads), i've got 1 x 12v psu for my compact case setup, but i also have a 3 x 12v add-on that i can attach to be used for my psu case setup. as i've mentioned, it's not a big deal, just an idea since a lot of us share ideas to make sproggy mk+ even better and better...

I understand what you mean. None-the-less, I suspect Mastero plans to keep the board the same size as before, regardless of what's on it. That way it fits nicely into an ATX PSU case.

i've got several AT and ATX psu cases, the board(mk3.5/4?) fits only on my old AT psu cases, not the later ATX ones.
