Wysocki,

Yes, powering multiple system components can be confusing. I will have detailed documentation that explains the different connection scenarios as well as support forum. The unit has a "delayed on" signal that feeds the remote turn-on input to an audio power amplifier or head unit. It turns your audio amp on 3 seconds after the CarPC is powered. This helps remove the "thump" in the speakers.

Antimatter,

This unit is really targeted for us poor Casetronics C134 users that don't have a good way of connecting a large-cabled PSU like to Opus into our tiny little system. The C134 only consumes about 3.5Amps max (with HDD and CD/DVD). The 60Watts (5Amps @ 12V) from this unit gives you enough juice to power your LCD screen and several USB devices with room to spare. Bigger units will come in the future.

Pioneer,

Thanks for the offer to beta test, but I already have a beta tester in the UK. I'll let you know how it goes. You're certainly welcome to buy one in the future.

thx

Why do you need beta testers for a power supply? Thats not a good approach for engineering a new power supply, too many things could happen.

If the powersupply fails to regulate, who's going to replace the burned up motherboard?

Dont get me wrong, I am not putting you down for producing a new product, I'm just concerned on what might happen.

Having beta testers for software is great,
but beta testers for hardware is very risky!

Pokey,

You raise valid points. However, I assure you the unit has been through rigorous in-house testing and is very much "production-ready". I just want others to look at it with "new eyes" before we release it for production. In fact, there *is* software in the unit (shutdown controller) which is being tested as part of the beta program.

Yunusu,

Millions....hmmm...I like that number. But seriously, this *should* become a popular product (certainly not millions) and one that lets everyone get rid of the inverters in front of their C134/Morex, and survive crank, and have shutdown control. In fact, at 3.5A (what my C134 draws) it will actually regulate down to about +5.5V. I'll let you know when we finish beta testing and are into limited production.
