Local Sine-Wave Inverter

Where is a good local store to get a sine-wave inverter? Are coleman brand sine-wave, or one from wal-mart or anything?

I'm assuming you're wanting a 'TRUE' sine-wave inverter vs. a modified/filtered sine-wave inverter.

The product in the URL above is definitely a modified/filtered sine-wave inverter.

UPDATE:

On the product page towards the bottom, Output Waveform: modified sinewave.

Yeah 'modified sine wave' means basically 'fake sine wave' it is just a quasi square wave with filtering. A true sine wave inverter needs to switch at least at 20KHz or so

Yeah I was wondering the same question, is it bad for your PC/PSU if you use a modified sine-wave inverter?

Search the forums and you'll find an answer.

Short: Probably not in the short term, but it might reduce the life of your PSU and Inverter. You may need to modify your ATX PSU.
