Unhappy New Opus issues

I just got my first opus recently and am trying to install it now. It seemed to work just fine this afternoon but now I'm having the following problem.

Won't start pc, light blinks 3 times (power output problem)
----Removed power output, pc starts BUT no hdd because I removed the power output cable.

Any suggestions.

ATX - M10000

I dunno, but have read that there can be problems if the green and white wires are not connected to the power button jumper on the mobo. I think that some people had it going to a switch or relay which caused problems.

Also the Acc (12v) wire needs to be connected to the 3 prong power connector for it to work, but sounds like you have that since it does power on - just not with the drive cables attached.

What all were you powering with it? Just the M1000 and the HDD?

Okay I have the same problem. I recently moved the computer from one car to another. I havent used the computer for a few weeks prior. The opus is properly powered (12V, 12V RMT, and GRND) and I am getting good voltage at the connector.

The green light on the Opus blinks 3 times over and over when the ignition is on. Nothing tried to spin up or turn on. I tried removing the fuse, waiting along time and reinstalling it with no avail.

My next step is to test the motherboard with a ac-dc PSU off an inverter, but I doubt thats the problem because my screen is not powering on either which is getting its power from the Opus. This setup has always worked, so Im not sure whats up.

Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated?

did you turn the connector around on the ps-on connector from the opus to the motherboard?

Oh I thought you were talking about the power connector to motherboard for a second there.

But if you are talking about the green/white connector that pulses the power switch jumper on the motherboard. I have tried it both ways (polarities) with no change.

ok, just making sure, then the only other thing I can think of is to do exactly that, try the setup with a normal power supply to make sure everything is good. What gauge wire did you run to the opus?

Yeah I will test that when I can borrow a PSU from someone, I threw all mine out. But I think if the motherboard was the problem my screen would at least turn on from the +12v it should get from the Opus.

Anyone know what it means when the light blinks 3 times? I cant find a manual for the 90W.

As far as wiring, Im sure its fine. I used some premium 10 gauge stuff straight to the battery.

1 Flash:
Battery voltage is below normal operating range.
The normal range is 11.5 VDC to 18 VDC.
During engine cranking the low battery voltage detection is ignored so the
battery voltage can dip below 11.5V.

2 Flashes:
The computer power up sequence failed
Reasons:
1. Check the wiring of the two wire power-switch cable from power supply connector J9 to power switch pins on the ATX motherboard. If connected properly check the polarity of the power switch pins. May be reversed.
2. Check ATX mother board bios settings.
3. Locked up mother board or software crash of bug.
4. Faulty DC-DC power supply.

3 Flashes:
Power supply output voltages are out of normal voltage range.
Reasons:
1. Power supply output is over loaded or shorted.
2. Faulty DC-DC power supply.

4 Flashes:
Power down, stand-by or hibernate sequence failed.
Reasons:
1. Check the wiring of the two wire power-switch cable from power supply connector J9 to power switch pins on the ATX motherboard. If connected properly check the polarity of the power switch pins. May be reversed.
2. Check ATX mother board bios settings.
3. Check if ACPI function is enabled in the power management BIOS setup.
4. Make sure ACPI drivers are installed in the operating system.
5. Check if application is compatible with ACPI mode of operation.
6. Locked up mother board or software crash of bug.
7. Faulty DC-DC power supply

Anyways.....I successfully powered the computer up with an inverter/AC-DC PSU. So I assume the PSU is deffective.
