xBox PSU?

Everyone knows xBox is just a regular old computer. I my brains out and I cannot find a 12v input PSU for xBox. I don't want to buy a tiny inverter just for my xBox and have to worry about noise and the such. Plus I swore to go inverter-free in my rig.

Does anyone have any info that may help me ?

then 12V PSU for xbox = 12V PSU for regular computer.

No?

haha, no. It's just not ATX. There is an IDE HDD and IDE DVD-ROM inside both use standard 4-pin molex connectors. The motherboard is different.

haha, no. I didn't mean plug it right in. What power requirements does the xbox need? Opus meet the needs? Yes, you will need to make some connections.

the newer xbox systems are simply atx boards....i dont know where the power button part would go though....

the older xbox systems use an AT style motherboard connector

best bet would be to get a cheap dc-dc supply, and match it up to the wires comming out of the board.....then simple have the power supply wired up to a relay/switch

Whats wrong with using a inverter ? I dont think there will be any issues if its grounded properley Also you could simply just extend teh switch using the right wires

Mod the 20(or 24) pin thing and use a regular atx psu if you want. I dont have an xbox nor have I dealt with one, so this comment could be usless

xBox is NOT a regular ATX power supply. The 5vSB on an ATX needs to be something like 3.3v to work on an xBox.

Inverters are loud and drain the car battery much more. I see xBox as being something used when the car's not running.

Yes a inverter is noisy, but if you get a proper common ground the noise is eliminated.
