options to hook up inverter?

hi, i m in a process of hooking up my inverter.

I can either wire directly to the battery or use the cigarrete lighter . i understand hard wiring to the battery is better, but is it worth it? drilling a hole on the firewall is alot of work for me. if i use the lighter plug, does it have any disavantages?

I have a 175w inverter. thanks for the help.

PS. the lighter is connected to a 20a fuse.

Blowing the fuse is the biggest disadvantage. I plugged mine into the cigarette lighter then tried to use the lighter...end result= no more audio until I replaced the fuse (at the end of my 45 minute ride to work, good thing I was halfway there when it blew). Next purchase for the car PC...an Opus P/S, power inverter's not worth the hassle for me.

Go to the battery (good clean power is a must). Also, i dought a 175 watt inverter will be powerful enough for the average carputer (again, good clean power is a must).
