OPUS plus power button

I want to add a power button to my EPIA + OPUS combo so that I can start or shut down the computer when I like, but still retain the shut down control of the OPUS. Do I just splice in to the two leads going to the power button jumper on the board? Will the OPUS care if I'm shorting out the jumper leads when the button is pressed?

Negative, because it's a momentary pulse. Better yet, put a switch on the blue wire, or 'control' line that signals that the ignition is on.

I thought about that, but I decided that it made more sence to use the PWR JMP to turn the computer on and off since that's what it's designed to do. Yesterday while I was testing my wiring (still build the carputer) I noticed that I had no way of turning the computer back on without turning the car off and back on. Kinda frustrating.

I am planning on adding a ACC bypass switch and probably a master kill switch. I haven't decided if I need a Reset switch yet.
