Powering PS2 with inverter...

hi,
on thursday i am going on a long car trip, and want to use my ps2 in the car on my 7" screen. I have all the AV cables and power for the screen, now i just need to work out power for the playstation2. I bought a 150W inverter and in the manual it says it puts out square waves, and the ps2 takes sine waves as my dad says. Anyway, would it do any damage if i were to plug my ps2 into this inverter because of the different sine/square waves??
sorry im quite new to inverters and stuff.
thanks

What kind of inverter is it? If it's your tipical inverter it should work.
