i'm looking for suggestions on a power solution

this is want i'm going to be powering:

• VIA EPIA Nehemiah M10000
• 40gig 3.25 HD ( probably 5400rpm )
• 512 ram
• slot load dvd/cd-rw
• lilliput lcd
• usb gps
• usb keyboard (zippy el-610)
• usb wireless network card
• usb FM receiver ( if i can find one to buy :| )
• C-Media CMI8738 6-Channel PCI Sound Card

there isn't going to be a head unit, the audio is going to go to 2 amps, one for the regular speakers, and one for the subs.

Now, the reason i'm asking for suggestions is because i listen to music alot, with my car shut off, also i'd like it if i can have it so the carputer didn't shut off when i shut off the car or start the car.

i'm a noob to things like this, but i'm not totally noob

i would fathom to say noob enough to not use the search feature.

This has been answered plenty of times and most everyone is going to say either shell out for an Opus or go the inverter route.

Some of us do search and don't find what we're looking for exactly, price really isn't that big of a deal, i meant cheapest as in "not overkill"

i've looked at plenty of threads, this is my first thread, but i've been looking at this site nearly 3 months and i haven't found anyone that explained it in a manor that makes since to people that haven't yet become "inventors"

if i'm to get an opus what should i get theres multiple models, whats the consumer carputer owner's thought on them, blah blah blah

i'm just trying not to get in some stupid snag with it thats all

Not to discourage or discredit but I doubt you've been searching 3 months for a solution.

Using the search button of the forums I just plugged in "Power Calculator" came up with a thread "Epia Power Calculator" with this link http://www.mini-box.com/via-power-simulator.html. Punching in your motherboard and specs minus the Lilliput gave about 55W in dvd playing mode.

Adding whatever a lilliput is these days (i'm guessing) 13W max that would put you at about 68W always add in margin for expansion and safety factor I would go for a minium 80W DC-DC option.

Now this took me 3 minutes to find ... the forums are there to share and develop ideas and not to be spent re-iterating previously answered questions.

thanks for the help, i never even thought about searching for that, lol

i've been on the site for 2 or 3 months, not searching for the answer to this question, heh. i just had a hard time finding what i was looking for, for some reason.

so i guess i'll get a 150 watt opus, unless someone can tell me a ps that might work a lil' better
