5V on USB header question w/ Opus 150W

I 'm sure this has been asked and answered, but I can't seem to find it....

Concerning the USB power won't shut off when used w/ 150W opus question:

Why can't you hook all of your usb devices up to the spare USB header on your MB, and power it w/ one of the 5V wires from the opus? Wouldn't that cut the power to the jack even if the MB was gettting power? Or does the Opus supply 5V to all of the connectors, not just the ATX?

Sorry if this is a rehash, but I couldn't find anything referring to this.... a simple "you search like helen keller and no." will suffice.

ok... my brain is going to explode. I think I finally swallowed all of the threads, and will be building the relay mod you speak of. Dumb clarification question:

This will effectively cut all power to the pc correct? So standby will no longer be an option, just shutdown and hibernate?

Oh, and one more clarificaiton... the reason the +12V and the IGN line are both on one side of the coil is so voltage over either line will trigger the relay, correct? Just trying to understand what is actually going on, instead of building something I don't understand.

Thanks for coming up with a solution!

What you said in the first post is pretty much correct - cut the power to the USB and connect it to the PSU 5v. There are a few threads on here about this.
