Question Wiring monitor/psu with cig lighter?

I was thinkin of removing the cig plug and splicing the wire. I would connect the psu to it, and then cut the cig lighter plug from the lilliput and connect it straight to the wires. To me, this makes sense cuz the monitor and psu both need 12volt dc. Does this make perfect sense, or should the psu go straight to the battery, or am I just retarded lol

it should work, but you risk frying your cig lighter socket and possible hurting some of the other wiring in your car. especially with that much wattage. sockets have been known to f**k up even with low wattage things like cell phone chargers. take my advice and wire them to your battery.
