Opus 150W, No Amp Control?

I was looking to get the Opus 150W PS, but I noticed I didn't see anything about powering on other devices, such as amps to prevent from the thump that occurs when the PC is turned on. For $180 I would think it would include this feature plus more at that price. I saw this controller for $95, and it has a lot of cool features. If the Opus 150W doesn't have the ability to power on amps and other devices, what are my other options? $190 is a lot for a power supply IMO. Plus I'm going to be using a PIII 933MHz, which is probably pushing the limits of the Opus 150W.

Thanks,
Matt

I'm not sure of the wattage of the P3 933, but people have been running P4s succsefully with the opus...

Yes the opus doesnt inlcude any amp controlling functions, and it isnt cheap no... but it is said to be the best in quality, and you really need durability in the car. The $95 controller has a bunch of functions, but in itself it isnt a powersupply...

I think the only better alternative to the opus would be either that controller+a keyspan psu 250watt ($200 I think), or wait for the new 150w psu that dragonbtv announce for under 100$ I think... (This will be about a month away I think)

Thank for the reply. I might wait out and fabricate the dash, run cables, ect in the meantime, and get DragonBTV's power supply as the last thing. Hopefully it will be out by that time.

Is the thump really that bad? The amp is the only device I would like to power on. Are there any cheap and easy solutions to this?

Thanks again

I think you can get a cheap delay relay board setup... youd probably have to make it yourself, and I'm not sure how...

My car has the thump, and although it isnt my favorite part of the system, it isnt my worse...
